How do you think a doctor would handle this situation....Would they detain him thinking he is suicidal or...?

I understand exactly what you mean. But a doctor wouldn't / couldn't detain him. first of all a doc is likely too busy and too worried about his/her malpractice insurance to get involved. Secondly, the guy could only be detained if he is physically harming himself or another. Then the courts have to decide after 3 days. If he gave ME the money, I don't think I could take it or keep it. I would wonder if he was OK and I would feel guilty taking advantage in case he didn't know what he was doing.
