What do you do when you find the guy who shoulda been ur first?

I started talking to a guy who I knew 20 years ago.I had such a crush on him when we were younger, haven't seen him since HS. I wanted to go out with him then, but he was ed by his friend(some friend). The friend ended up being my first. We have recently reconnected, and we are both single and interested,( I think.)Well I am. He calls and texts, and Ims..so he is right? I just wonder if I am interested because he should have been the one? He is so nice, and funny, and I am sooo attracted...Maybe he is just interested in me because I said he wasn't then, (you never forget the guy who supposedly said your ugly, but your body makes up for your face.) I know I'm not ugly, not now , I get hit on at Stop & Shop In my PJ's...true story! IDK...what would you do???anyone???
