Song title - artist ?

It is a pop / soft rock tune from the 90�s, I believe. The singer sounds a little like Iggy Pop, when he is doing a ballad. The chorus in the song goes something like this : Oh, it�s a .....( simple ? ) world and you just keep me hangin� on...! Everybody knows this tune, I just can�t recollect the title or the artist.
